Savannah Paige is a certified and published makeup artist in the Los Angeles area. She is a jack of all trades when it comes to makeup, being able to do any look from SFX makeup to high fashion runway looks. She hopes to one day branch out in bridal makeup and possibly create her own makeup brand one day.

1. What inspired you to become a makeup artist?

What inspired me to become a makeup artist is being able to enhance people’s beauty. I love that there’s a whole creative side, especially when it comes to high fashion and special effects. As much as I love beauty, I also enjoy creating blood and gore. Being the creative type growing up, makeup to me is a form of artistic expression and activity.

2. How did you learn your makeup artistry skills?

I first learned my skills watching YouTube tutorials at age 11 and continuous practice. From there I went to makeup school at Elegance International in Hollywood. In school, I studied everything from beauty to high fashion to theatre and SFX makeup.

3. What is your favorite beauty product and why?

My favorite beauty products are cream foundations because you can use them on any skin type and you’re able to thin them out with moisturizer and primer for your desired texture. My personal favorite brand for these is Cao Cosmetics. They’re very easily buildable, so you can have very light coverage, medium coverage, or full coverage look.

4. What beauty essentials do you carry with you on a daily basis?

The two beauty essentials I carry daily are a lip gloss and blotting sheets. I love having my lips juicy and the feeling of the wetness on my lips. Blotting sheets are handy for touching up your face after you’ve had makeup on for a few hours running errands.

5. What does beauty mean to you?

To me, beauty means being able to change up your look from very natural chic to a nice edgy goth. I love that you can achieve whatever style or look you want with the right hair and makeup.

6. What is your morning and evening beauty routine?

My morning routine is to wipe down my face with Pampers Sensitive baby wipes, and then apply Timeless serum by Sei Bella with Origins Brightening Under Eye Cream. Then I throw Argan Oil in my hair for hydration and shine. Then I use my everyday favorite beauty products like Too Faced primer foundation concealer and Butter London lippy gloss in Yummy Mummy for a natural look or smokey eye that day. My evening beauty routine consists of washing my face with coconut oil on a baby wipe and cleaning my face with Peter Thomas cleanser. Sometimes I’ll put a charcoal mask on. Then I finish off with my Jose Marin Argan Oil moisturizer.

7. What’s your best beauty tip?

My best beauty tip is to always feel comfortable and confident in your own skin… and make sure to change up your skin routine every once in a while with new products. Our bodies are always changing so using the same products over and over again will diminish the effectiveness of those products.

8. What’s next for you?

Next for me is starting my own makeup brand and branching out into bridal makeup. Details on my brand are currently under wraps but you can follow my Instagram @asavvymakeover for updates on that.
