La Clé means the key in English, a word that embraces the philosophy that “the key” to living the life you want is determined by what you focus on and practice every day. La Clé is a lifestly brand created by Deanna Saracino from Ottawa, Ontario- Canada. The inspiration for her to create the Refocus Bands started in 2001 before a soccer game. She would often use those elastic rubber bands from asparagus at the grocery store and write inspiring messages on them for her teammates before a game and it would always give her team a good boost of confidence and moral support from one another. Here we are now, after 13 years she decided to refine the idea and Refocus bands were born. Just remember to Wear it, Flip it, Refocus!
1. What inspired you to create La Clé?
Failure is what inspired me to create this brand. After walking away from another business I was invested in I needed a change and a creative outlet. I decided to start this company called La Clé which means “the Key” in french because the key to doing anything starts with the way you think. I think adversity is a huge part of making you who you are. Not everything goes to plan and that is alright. Life is really 1% what happens to you and 99% how you respond to it!
2. Can you tell us about the featured ingredients and the brand mission?
Our goal is to create action based accessories and apparel. The products we create must enhance energy. They will make you look good, feel good or allow you to do good through our charity give backs program called The Unlocked Project.
3. What is your favorite La Clé product and why?
Our Refocus Bands Bracelets are not only our bestselling product but also my personal favorite because there are so many to choose from! There are so many inspiring messages that can truly help change the way you think on a daily basis! Wear it, Flip it, Refocus!
4. What beauty essentials do you carry with you on a daily basis?
SPF! I love CōTZ tinted SPF moisturizer!
5. What does beauty mean to you?
It means to be who you are and live that everyday 100% authentically.
6. What is your morning and evening beauty routine?
Wash my face with Derma E products and moisturize and SPF. Light makeup and always a bit of mascara! We love the natural look!
7. What’s your best beauty tip?
Wear sunscreen!
